Thanks for a useful library. I am trying to use it to replace both Apache POI and ODFDOM in my Drupal module: http://drupal.org/project/sheetnode.

Can anyone tell me if an OOCalc Writer class is on the roadmap?

I think MarkBaker is considering it. It is probably a big task.

It's on the "to do" list, though not at the top.

I'm working on a basic chart reader/writer for Excel 2007 at the moment, and there's a few problems in the OOCalc reader (e.g. date/time values across daylight savings aren't correct, and I need to do some additional work on character sets) that I want to address before I start work on the writer. I'm also looking at the differences between OOCalc 2 and OOCalc 3 that are causing a few problems for the reader, and wondering if I should split down to an OOCalc2 and an OOCalc3 reader and writer, or simply focus on OOCalc 3... my inclination is the OO3 only.

Don't expect anything for the next release (1.7.3) of PHPExcel, but I hope to have a first draft OOCalc writer for 1.7.4 (expect around May, or earlier if you pick it up in the SVN daily downloads)

Thanks everyone for your reply. I'm looking forward to using OOCalc reading and writing.
