First off, I'm the MySQL guy, and really, I just picked that up.  But I work on a project that outputs files in Excel and we just want to not monkey with the formatting and my php guy is unreachable at the moment.  So I've downloaded XAMPP and am able to get that up on localhost, but I have yet to be able to view the Tests provided.  I've placed the Classes and Tests folders in the http://localhost/xampp/htdocs , the http://localhost/xampp/apache/htdocs , and the http://localhost/xampp/php/www folders in XAMPP, and everytime I try to view 01simple.php by pointing to its location, I only see the code!

Please help, as I really have no idea.  I figure once I get this part, I can show it off to the project and get to the formatting issue.

Thanks in advance,

I guess you need to enable PHP ( and restart apache), the webserver is not calling PHP to interprete the php file.

Thanks Mike, but I just checked the status and it said the php is activated.  Any other ideas?

Hey I think I was overshooting the file, but here's the output now:

19:47:54 Create new PHPExcel object 19:47:55 Set properties 19:47:55 Add some data 19:47:55 Rename sheet 19:47:55 Write to Excel2007 format 19:47:56 Peak memory usage: 4.75 MB 19:47:56 Done writing file.

So, what's happening now, and what should I do next?

Thanks all.

It should output a file to that same folder.

01simple-download-xlsx.php sends it to your browser so the user can open or save it him/herself.
