I am writing an Excel5 file to be imported by Outlook, which required a name range defined.

I am using below to name the range, however, Outlook complians with the following message upon import:

$objPHPExcel->addNamedRange( new PHPExcel_NamedRange('Q', $objPHPExcel->getActiveSheet(), 'A1:' . $objPHPExcel->getActiveSheet()->getHighestColumn() . $objPHPExcel->getActiveSheet()->getHighestRow()) );

The error message says that the file has no named ranges.

 Can you please advise how to solve the problem?

Since I am only updating values of some cells, it turns out that the new Excel5 file have inherited that name range of the original file, but for some reason it is not active, as I see it listed in the Name Manger list, but not in the Name Box drop down menu.

And the Scope is greyd out in the Name dialogue box.

How to enable that name now, since it is already defined?
