Worksheet Level Security not working in Open Office 3.0

I am creating a worksheet with PHPExcel 1.7.1 and testing worksheet level security and a password.  When I open it in IBM's Symphony it works fine and says I cannot edit a particular cell however when I open it in Open Office 3.0 the protection is turned off and I can edit any cell.  When I go into the menu in Open Office and turn on worksheet security and set a new password it does remember which cells I told it to protect and unprotect prior using PHPExcel.  I do not have Excel 2007 so I cannot test if it works there either.

Is this a possible bug or does anyone have the same issue?

I just did a quick test with OpenOffice.org 3.1.1. Conclusion is that it does not support worksheet level security when reading xlsx files. xls files are ok, however.

Again, this means that the problem is not with PHPExcel, but that the people at OpenOffice.org have not yet added support for those features in their xlsx importer.
