E-mails in cells can't be read

I am starting using PHPExcel, and it seems I have a problem. See part of my code below. That code supposes load a file, get sheet with content (sheet that have something in "A1" cell), and dump the content of such "A1" cell. It seems working fine for .csv and .xls files but not some much for .ods files. When I have in that cell anything with '@' in it (like e-mails) PHPExcel_Cell::getValue() return empty string instead of real content of such cell. Note the problems is only with .ods files, .csv and .xls seems working fine.

PHPExcel version: 1.8.0
LibreOffice version: 3.4.4
        /*** getting $fileName here ***/

        $fileType = PHPExcel_IOFactory::identify($fileName);
        $objReader = PHPExcel_IOFactory::createReader($fileType);

        $objPHPExcel = $objReader->load($fileName);

        foreach ($objPHPExcel->getWorksheetIterator() as $index => $sheet) {
            if ($sheet->cellExists("A1")) {
                $sheetIndex = $index;
        $objWorksheet = $objPHPExcel->getSheet($index);
