It seems that PDF writer lost somewhere VERTICAL_CENTER alignment, although it sets OK in Excel and HTML. You can view screen shots below.

setting cell-properties:
            'font'        => array('bold' => true,     'color' => array('argb' => PHPExcel_Style_Color::COLOR_WHITE )            ),
            'alignment' => array(
                    'horizontal' => PHPExcel_Style_Alignment::HORIZONTAL_CENTER,
                    'vertical'   => PHPExcel_Style_Alignment::VERTICAL_CENTER,
                    'wrap'         => true
            'fill' => array('type'  => PHPExcel_Style_Fill::FILL_SOLID,     'startcolor' => array('argb' => $fillColor)        )
        ),    "A".(6+$prevRowsCount).":".$lastColumnLetter.(6+$prevRowsCount)

The problem is that TCPDF does not support vertical alignment.

All we can do is probably to wait for the feature to be implemented in TCPDF.
