I'm trying to use some of the features in the excel2007 classes (mainly auto filter) I'm wondering if theres a way using the 2007 writer to save in a compatible format for Office 2000/2003.

The Excel5 writer should be creating files that can be opened in Office 2000/2003.

I'm already using the pear spreadsheet class. But it and the Excel5 writer are missing functionality that I need, that's why I'm wondering if the Excel2007 writer can save in an XML format that can be opened by Excel 2000/2003. I know that Excel 2003 can save as an XML spreadsheet so it should be possible.

Also check http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en. It adds support for 2007 file formats in 2003 Office version.
