pounds in phpexcel

is it possible to export the pound symbol in excel using phpexcel... i tried this and i saw some code which given in this site... but not able to get that pound symbol... please help me.. thank u

You need to use UTF-8 character set to include characters such as £ because it is not a standard ASCII character

How to use the UTF-8 Character set can u please explain me... can we use this method in exporting the data to phpexcel... is it possible can u please give one example....

We're getting into regular PHP here, nothing to do with PHPExcel.

 

When you edit your script, your editor should have some options to save the file as UTF-8. Use that option, but make sure you don't save with a BOM marker.
