Conditional formatting in Excel2007 doesn't show in Excel 2003

Hi,

On my computer I have installed MS Excel 2003 with converter for opening Excel 2007 files.

If I open Excel example 08conditionalformatting.xlsx in Excel 2003, conditional formatting is not shown.

Does anyone have any ideas about this? I looked into xml files and compared it to manually created similar file in Excel 2007 (which opens correctly in 2003), but I couldn't find anything wrong!?

Does any one have any ideas about this?

Thanks

P.S. PHPExcel is is REALLY great product ;)

I can verify that the conditional style is completely lost when one opens 08conditionalformatting.xlsx in Excel 2003 (with compatibility pack). Was not aware of that!

Looking into the problem, Excel 2003 doesn't support conditional styling of number format (contrary to Excel 2007).

08conditionalformatting.xlsx features conditional styling of number format. Apparently, that is why the particular conditional style is thrown away when the file is opened in Excel 2003.
