Problem With Long Text

Jan 2, 2008 at 1:21 PM
I've done a Php script that exports products data from a MySql database to MsExcel using this useful PHPExcel class, everything is fine except for the description field. This usually is a very long text and when I add this with getActiveSheet()->setCellValue I get only a part of the entire text ( I tried to count how many chars it writes, but my excel doesn't recognize the LEN function... maybe you can help me with this issue as well.. ) . So, what do I have to do to write the entire 'description' product field inside the cell?
Thank you for help.

Please check for Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 limitations.

Thank You,
this was very useful, I've found the ptoblem:

'The number of characters that can be stored and displayed in a cell formatted as Text => 255'

So, is it possible to change the cell format from the actual 'text' to any other kind of format?
Thank you again.

Can you try using RichText?

I think so,
the problem is I don't know what to do :)
Do you know what I have to do if I want to convert a cell to Rich Text Format?
Thank you

not for any single cell but for whole sheet
if i apply it cell by cell the page dies out of timeout
any thing possible here?
